Nashville Celtic Rock Band Coming to the Alley

Nashville Celtic Rock Band Coming to the Alley

Nashville Celtic rock band Molly Ramone will come to West Tennessee on Thursday, May 17, when singer/songwriter Mark Harriman and Joe Khoury will perform at Arts in the Alley in downtown Henderson. Beginning at 6 p.m., the event will be hosted by the Henderson Arts Commission in the alley off Main Street beside Frix-Jennings Clinic.

Originally from Leiceister, England, Harriman came to America in 1995 when he signed to Gravelsauce Records. Since then he has established himself as an integral part of the Nashville music scene. Khoury plays lead guitar and mandolin and sings backing vocals. He is a prominent session player and music producer in Nashville.

Regularly featured at both the Opryland Hotel and on Music Row, Molly Ramone has a delightful way of encouraging audiences to join the excitement by clapping or singing along to both traditional Irish ballads and newer Celtic rock music.

MBI following hundreds of tips to catch highway killer

DESOTO COUNTY, MS- (WMC-TV) - The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said it has gotten hundreds of tips, but none of them have cracked the case of the highway killer yet.

They will continue to investigate each and every one as if it may be the tip they need to catch the person responsible for two shooting deaths on North Mississippi highways.

Investigators said there is a chance the killer could cross state lines and they are on high alert.

As investigators continue to dig up new leads, police and sheriff's deputies are being vigilant in search of anything unusual.

Two people were shot and killed on the side of Mississippi highways in the month of May.

One of the victims was 74-year-old Tom Schlender from Raymond, Nebraska.

Miss. officials urge drivers to use caution pulling over for flashing lights

MEMPHIS, TN- (WMC-TV) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol is warning drivers to be cautious while being pulled over as they investigate two deadly highway shootings.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol's Bureau of Investigation said there are similarities between both incidents.

"The concern is that someone is posing as a law enforcement officer and that is how these vehicles end up on the side of the road," said MBI Director Lt. Col. Larry Waggoner in a written statement.

Both deadly shootings happened on Mississippi highways.

"I know there are a lot of rumors. We don't know anything right now that is concrete. Due to some of the evidence at the scene, lead us to believe both subjects that were killed were on the side of the road. You can speculate about different things. We are not eliminating anything as a possibility on how they got on the side of the road," said John Champion, district attorney.

Shelves empty at Lifeblood

Lifeblood is in critical need of both blood and platelet donors.

The warmer months are traditionally low donation times, and this year is no exception.

“We have depleted our inventory of O+ units, and all other types are low,” said Jennifer Balink, vice president of donor relations for Lifeblood. “We need everyone to get involved today; hundreds of patients’ lives depend on volunteer blood donors.”

In addition to being out of whole blood units, Lifeblood is also in need of platelet donors.
