Safe Surrender Program offers chance to erase warrants |

(WMC-TV) - Southaven officials are offering people who are wanted on bench warrants the chance to turn themselves in and not face jail time.

The Safe Surrender Program will give wanted individuals the opportunity to pay half of their fine amounts in a lump sum and then make arrangements to pay the remaining amount.

"If you comply with all court orders, instructions and honor the payment plan, no other warrants will be issued and you will never be arrested," a city spokesman said in a written statement.

The program will be held at Southaven Municipal Court, 8889 Northwest Dr., on the following dates:

• August 20 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.
• August 21 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.
• August 27 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.
• August 28 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.
