More than 200 traffic citations given during checkpoints at two pre-determined locations |

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office along with the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department conducted two DUI sobriety checkpoints at two pre-determined locations due to area crash data on alcohol related crashes.

The combined effort for Friday night's two checkpoint locations included:

• 217 Traffic Citations
• 8 Physical DUI arrests
• 7 Misdemeanor Citations
• 1 Weapon/Narcotic Physical (stolen handgun/marijuana on person)

The checkpoints were are two different locations along Statelline Road.
