A new traveling arts exhibit is on display for Tunica RiverPark & Museum goers. The Delta Artists exhibit features works from Mississippi Delta natives and resident artists.  Some of the featured artists include Jamie Tate, Donna Blackard,Tom Clifton, and James Hayes. "We decided to introduce constant change to the museum by opening a traveling exhibit area that would fit in with the theme of the Mississippi Delta, " said Webster Franklin, President and CEO of the Tunica Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Alicia Keys cancels concert in Southaven

Alicia Keys will not "Set The World On Fire, at least not in the Mid-South.

Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, Keys cancelled her March 27 concert date at The Landers Center in Southaven, Miss.

Customers who purchased tickets can have them refunded at the point-of-purchase.

The North American leg of the "Set The World On Fire Tour" kicks of March 7th in Seattle, WA and will run through April 18th in Chicago, IL.

Millington native Justin Timberlake is back, and brought his Memphis roots to 55th annual Grammy Awards Sunday.

Timberlake's performance of new music with a soulful throwback clearly influenced by Stax recording legends.

He recently announced he's getting back in the music business with a new album release next month.

World Series of Poker comes to Tunica

World Series of Poker comes to Tunica

The World Series of Poker will return to Tunica at the end of January for its eighth year.

Harrah’s Tunica will host the circuit event from January 24, 2013, through February 4.

There will be 12 gold ring events, but the main event starts on Friday, February 1.

Since 2005, Harrah’s officials say $32 million in prize money has been given out to winners.

In 2012, main event winner Kurt Jewell took home almost $200,000 from a field of more than 600 others.

Points from the events can qualify players for a seat at the national event in New Orleans.

New Malco theatre coming to Olive Branch

 

Memphis-based Malco Theatres is building a new 12-screen theatre in Olive Branch.

The movie chain completed initial site work several years ago but decided to shelve the development when the recession hit. The company announced last  week it’s resumed construction on the project with plans for completion by the middle of next year, according to the Memphis Daily News Blog.

The cinema, located at Goodman Road and West Hamilton Circle in Olive Branch, will anchor a planned development by developer Michael Lightman.

"Annie" Coming to Landers Center

Regardless of the forecast, the sun will come out tomorrow as the DeSoto Family Theatre presents the musical "Annie" at the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi.

The loveable redhead hits the stage with her furry mutt Sandy, Daddy Warbucks and of course, the not-so-nice Miss Hannigan!

The show runs from November 30th through December 9th.
