Electric cars to roll off Mid-South assembly line | Business
(WMC-TV) – A Horn Lake company is just a few weeks away from shipping its first electric car, according to the Mississippi Business Journal.
GreenTech Automotive plans to roll the first of its MyCars off the assembly line on July 6, the paper reports.
However, you won’t be able to hop in one and hit city streets stateside.
The MyCar isn’t street legal in the U.S. … You could, however, go from one neighborhood house to another. That’s a big reason why a lot of the MyCars will be sold overseas initially, where they are more common and less frowned upon legally.
In fact, the company inked a deal to sell the cars in Denmark last year.
The tiny two-seaters can be charged by any standard electrical outlet and uses about two cents worth of electricity for every mile it drives, according to the company.
