Rick Ross says canceled tour due to promoter not gang threats | Events
Rick Ross spoke on a Miami radio station Monday addressing the controversy behind his canceled MMG Tour.
Rick Ross was set to play at the Landers Center with Maybach Music Group, Meek Mill and Wale in Southaven.
"I canceled the rest of the tour due to the promoter, he wasn't really handlin' his business," Ross explained.
According to Ross, after concert promoter Shawn Gee canceled three of his shows without notifying him, he dropped the remaining tour dates.
The Gangster Disciples made the threat against Ross in a YouTube video posted a few weeks ago, according to MTV News.
In the video, the gang demands Ross cut a check to Chicago gang founder Larry Hoover or else there will be "trouble."
According to the Huffington Post, the Chicago Police Department is still taking the threats seriously
Ross made it clear in his interview with the radio station that he has no intentions of backing down.
"So if you screamin', 'Cut a check, we need a check.' Ain't no checks gettin' cut. Ain't never no checks gettin' cut. I don't play those games. I consider that extortion, we don't play like that,” said Ross.
