Davis comments on Chik-fil-A fight | News
(WMC-TV) - Southaven mayor Greg Davis made headlines this weekend when he weighed in on the controversy surrounding a Chik-fil-A executive's support of groups that oppose gay marriage.
Davis revealed that he was gay last year after investigators in Mississippi and at the FBI began looking into the way he had spent public money.
In an interview with The DeSoto Times Tribune, Davis said that business and politics shouldn't mix.
Davis said in his opinion, free enterprise and politics should be kept separate but Davis said the definition of a family is more a personal issue that individuals and families should decide for themselves.
"I think the Boston mayor sent out a letter or something, but I don't think the issue being discussed today is a political issue," Davis said. "It's more of an individual issue that people need to address as they see fit."
The fracas over Chik-fil-A started when Dan Cathay, the company's CEO, said that he opposed gay marriage.
